Stieglitz returned from
Europe in 1890 with the idea that photography was an art form.
During a career that spanned 60 years, he did pioneer camera work that gained this place
for photography. He would stand for hours waiting for "the moment when
everything is in balance." In later life he preferred "exploration of the
familiar" - New York City; he also worked with qualities of human face. For more information about Stieglitz see Unit 6. |
