George Tooker (1920-) - urban injustice
National Mus. of American Art

Tooker felt that living in the city turned people into nameless, faceless rubber stamp copies. He attempted to reveal the danger of urban existance through his paintings that were occupied by people with identical faces, often pictured in caged surroundings.
